In the morning of July 31st 2015, the launching conference of “Top 500 Enterprises and Excellent Independent Brands in Guangdong Province of year 2015” was held in Baiyun International Convention Center in Guangzhou. More than 400 business representatives attended the conference.
In accordance with internationally accepted practices, through self-declaration by enterprises or recommendation by local or industry associations, based on business revenues of the company, and taking in reference of the company’s social influence, social contribution and other indicators, comprehensive rankings were made by Guangdong Enterprises Association and Guangdong Province Entrepreneur Association, and the lists of 2015 Top 500 Enterprises in Guangdong Province, Top 100 Private Enterprises in Guangdong Province, Top 100 Enterprises in Manufacturing Industry of Guangdong Province, Top 100 Enterprises in Services Industry of Guangdong Province, and Top 100 Enterprises of Commercial Circulation Industry of Guangdong Province were launched. Ruihe has won the title of "2015 Top 500 Enterprises in Guangdong Province", which has been a great honor, and which is difficult to achieve.
China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd., China Ping An Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd., and China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd. ranked Top 3 in the "2015 Top 500 Enterprises in Guangdong Province".
The top 500 enterprises in Guangdong of year 2015 has the following salient features：
1. The strength of the enterprises has been significantly enhanced
The overall strength of the companies that made the list of Top 500 Enterprises in Guangdong Province has significantly increased, and the total revenue has grown 14.07% over the previous year. Among these companies, the total revenue of the top 100 companies has increased by 14.44% over the previous year, 16 companies have joined the "Hundred-billion club" which symbolizes them as world-class enterprises, and the number of companies which worth over 10 billion has increased from 368 last year to 414 this year. The average net profit has increased up of 16.7% over the previous year, and the total asset has increased by 19.22% over the previous year.
The total revenue of 2015 top 100 private enterprises in Guangdong Province has increased by 16.15% over the previous year, and the net profit has increased by 31.37%. The total revenue of top 100 companies in manufacturing industry has increased by 12.7% over the previous year, and the net profit has increased by 23.88%. The total revenue of the top 100 companies in services industry has increased by 15.76% over the previous year, and the net profit has increased by 24.85%. The total revenue of the top 100 companies in commercial circulation industry has increased by 15.68% over the previous year, and the net profit has increased by 15.78%.
The good business, profitability and asset condition of these large enterprises in Guangdong has laid a good foundation for the generally sustained and stable economic development in the Guangdong.
2. The development of the industry has been balanced, and the strength of the tertiary industry has improved significantly
From the look of the distribution of industry, the number of enterprises in manufacturing industry has declined in the top 500 companies, slightly dropped from 53.6% last year to 52.8%. And the number of companies in services and circulation industries has accounted for 46.4%, showing an increase of 3.8%. It can be seen from the data that the manufacturing industry still has a strong base, while the development of modern service industry has been rapid, playing an increasingly important role in Guangdong's economy.
3. The imbalanced regional development is still outstanding
In the mid-2014, the imbalanced regional development has still been outstanding in Guangdong Province, which can be seen from the distribution of the top 500 companies. Among the top 500 companies that made the list, 90% of them were from the Pearl River Delta region, 4% of them were from the eastern Guangdong, 3.4 % of them were from the western Guangdong, and 2.6% were from the northern Guangdong. Wherein, 94.76% of the companies with assets over 5 billion were concentrated in the Pearl River Delta, the percentage of which was similar with the number of the previous year. The distribution of the top 500 companies in the regions above indicated that long-term and multifaceted endeavor are needed to achieve the balanced regional development in Guangdong Province.
Based on the development of the top 500 enterprises of year 2015 in Guangdong, under the new normal economy, despite the downward economic pressure business has been facing, the industrial transformation and upgrading of our province has achieved remarkable results. With the supporting policies offered by Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, large enterprises have vigorously implemented the strategy of innovation-driven development, promoting each other to achieve a rapid development, resulting in a improving quality and efficiency of the development, and playing a leading and influential role in Guangdong's economy. The rapid development of large-scale backbone enterprises of Guangdong has played a significant role in Guangdong Province ranking the No. 1 economic province for 26 consecutive years.
At the conference, President Dongsheng Li of Guangdong Enterprises Association has made a few suggestions to all the enterprises owners: 1) to understand the new normal so as to achieve steady growth; 2) to form new ideas of development and to upgrade itself by innovation; 3) to achieve a new leap forward, and make influential leading effect. All these suggestions aim to help Guangdong enterprises to achieve world-class advanced levels not only in scale, but also in the quality and efficiency of development.
The conference also announced the best outstanding independent brands of year 2014 including independent brands in Guangzhou light industry. About 100 outstanding independent brands including Weiyi and 10 personal brands have received brand development and contribution award. The conference has also in particular invited Xiaomei Xiang, the Head of the Research Institute of Industrial Economics of Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences, to make a report on "the new developing idea of Guangdong enterprises in the new normal".
